JUNIOR HOCKEY

We have a number of junior programs organised in the Taranaki Region starting for children aged 4 and over. Our junior programs are run primarily through the schools, but if your school is unable to enter a team, please contact us so we can arrange for you to participate with another school.

FUN STICKS HOCKEY (4-6 YEAR OLDS)

Fun Sticks (4-6 Year olds) is a progressive programme that will introduce your child to hockey through basic fundamental skills and fun hockey games. This program is being offerred in term 2 & 3 in Stratford and New Plymouth (also see Junior page).

CENTRAL/SOUTH JUNIOR HOCKEY

Utilising the beautiful turf at Stratford, Juniors can participate in the Primary Small Sticks 6 aside (Monday evenings) and Intermediate
​​​​​​​7 aside (Thursday evenings).

NORTH TARANAKI JUNIOR HOCKEY

Looking after our Juniors in New Plymouth, you can be involved in Primary Small Sticks (Saturday mornings) and Intermediate 7 aside (Friday evenings & Monday evenings).

YOUTH HOCKEY

YOUTH COMPETITION​​​​​​​

Youth hockey is played Tuesday & Thursday evenings (with overflow of games played on Monday evenings) in both Stratford & New Plymouth. Grades available, Premier, Championship and 3rd Division competitions include teams from across the region. If you wish to play, sign up through your school or contact Taranaki Hockey directly who can find you a team.

SENIOR COMPETITION

We have a number of clubs affiliated with us and our competition is played on Friday evenings & Saturday afternoons. We have two levels of competition, Premier & Championshipo grade.  Games are played  in Stratford and New Plymouth.
